About the Project

Conditioned Floor Area - 3,939 sf Exterior Decks & Balconies - 933 sf Screened Area - 2,100 sf Green Roof, Gardens - 1,598 sf Rainwater Harvesting - 1,309 sf This design began with a request for a balcony library above the main living space. The rest is an exploration of ideas, architectural and Otherwise. Change the relationship of building to site by bringing it under and over. This actually increases the usable area of the site. I have added the "Sound Room" which is accoustically isolated from the out-of-doors and the rest of the house for whatever noise you wish to make; loud parties, practicing musical instruments, a wood shop or movies with full sound (freedom). Rainwater harvesting from the high roof for the roof gardens and plantings within the screened area. Private areas within are compact to allow for more space in the common areas.
